A whole house is quoted separately, in writing, from photographs of each room or a walk round with you, and the price you are given is the price you pay.
For families clearing the home of someone they have lost. We go room by room, keep back what the family wants kept, and carry the rest out. Be there for all of it, some of it, or none.
More about it
A bereavement clearance is a house clearance with a family's feelings in it. Nothing is hurried and nothing personal is thrown away unseen. Letters, photographs and papers are put to one side for you to go through.
I've used this service twice to collect bulky rubbish from my front garden and they've been fantastic both times. Very quick service, take very bulky items and very quick turnaround. Definitely recommend.

Very nice guys. They were on time, very polite and worked very fast and clean. They left no mess, went above and beyond. Our garden hasn’t looked so tidy in years.
Very professional trustworthy team.
I highly recommend them and will use them again.

Complete Waste Management were brilliant!!!
The whole team were totally amazing! From
the lovely lady who took our booking and who could not have been more helpful, to the team who came out to do the job. They were fast, efficient, polite and helpful and all areas were left clean and tidy.
We would most definitely use Complete Waste Management again and from our experience, we would certainly recommend them.
To the whole team, thank you!

Before anything goes near the vehicle, the things the family wants are taken out of the way. A note on a door, a sticker on a chair, or a room we are told not to touch is enough.
If something turns up that nobody mentioned, a box of letters at the back of a wardrobe or a ring in a drawer, it is set aside rather than loaded, and you decide.
Being there, or not
There is no right way to do this, and families do it differently. Some want to be in the house for every room, because it is the last time they will see it as it was. Some come for the bedroom and the front room and leave the kitchen and the loft to us. Some live at the other end of the country and cannot face the drive, and that is fine as well: the house can be emptied without anybody there, the rooms photographed when they are done and the keys handed back to whoever gave them to us. Many people find the first room is the hardest and the rest is easier than they feared. If you would rather do it in stages, one room now and the rest when you are ready, that is how it is quoted. Nobody will hurry you on the day, and nobody will ask you to sort things into piles before we arrive. Tell us what is staying and the rest goes, carefully, with the rooms swept behind us as they are emptied. If you are there and you want a few minutes in a room before it is cleared, say so and the room waits; there is always another room to get on with, and an empty house is not a race.
Worth deciding first
Who has the final say
Usually the executor, or the family between them. One person we can ring makes the day easier for everybody.
What may be worth something
Furniture and antiques are worth a photograph before they go, because we have somebody who buys.
The date
If the house has to be handed back or put on the market, tell us when, and we work back from it.
Where it goes
What the family keeps stays with the family. The rest goes to a transfer station and what can be recycled is recycled; nothing is left at the kerb.
Some of it may be worth something. Furniture and antiques are worth a photograph before they go, because we have somebody who buys.
Questions people ask
How soon after a death can the house be cleared?
When the family is ready, and not before.
Do we need to be there on the day?
No. Be there for as much or as little as you want. If you are not there, you get photographs of every room when it is done and the keys go back to whoever gave them to us.
What happens to photographs, letters and papers?
They are set aside, not loaded. Anything that looks personal or important comes to you to go through, however small it is.
Can it be done in stages?
Yes. Room by room, at the pace the family needs. Say so when you ask for the price and it is quoted that way.
Is any of the furniture worth something?
Some of it may be. We have somebody who buys furniture and antiques, so photograph those too and say what they are. It costs nothing to ask.
How is a bereavement clearance priced?
Quoted separately, in writing, before anything is booked, from photographs of each room or a walk round with you. Nothing to pay until the job is done.
Who pays for a house clearance after a death?
Usually the estate. All we need to know is who the quote goes to.
Do you clear the loft, the garage and the shed as well?
Yes, in the same visit as the house, and the garden too if it needs it. Say so when you send the photographs and the quote covers them.
