What it covers

Schools and colleges clear out on a timetable. The summer holiday is when the refurbishment happens, half term is when the storeroom finally gets dealt with, and the rest of the year the work has to fit round the children. A school clearance is mostly furniture and equipment that has reached the end of its life, old desks, chairs, cupboards and filing cabinets, broken equipment, a staffroom kitchen, and the boxes in the storeroom that nobody remembers packing. We clear it in the holidays or after hours, through whichever entrance the site manager wants used, and take it all away. It is priced from £495, by the load rather than by the day, quoted in writing from photos or a walk round with the site manager, and RAMS, COSHH assessments and a waste transfer note come with every job. Electricals go for recycling rather than general waste, and anything the school wants to keep or pass on is set aside before the loading starts. Holidays, half terms and after hours, booked round the site manager's calendar. RAMS and COSHH assessments before we start, and a waste transfer note when we finish. Anything that can be used again goes to local charities and to people who are homeless, and what can be recycled is recycled.
