Estate clearance

An estate clearance is a house clearance with somebody else's name on the instruction. Often it is an executor who lives a long way away, sometimes it is a solicitor's office handling the estate, and sometimes it is a family who simply want one company to deal with all of it. What they need from us is the same: a written price before anything is moved, the keys collected and returned without fuss, anything personal or valuable set aside rather than loaded, and photographs of every room once it is clear so the person signing off the estate can see it has been done without driving over to look. Whoever rings us is who we invoice, whether that is the solicitor, the executor or a member of the family. Payment is after the job, by bank transfer, and the house is left empty, swept and ready for the valuation, the sale or the handover to the next owner. If the family want a deep clean before the keys go back, it can be added, from £99. Papers, photographs, jewellery and anything that looks like it might matter are put to one side for the executor to go through. If something turns up that nobody mentioned, it is kept back and you decide. Keys collected from the office, a neighbour or a lockbox and handed back when it is done. Every room is photographed once it is clear, and the photographs come to you. Anything that can be used again goes to local charities and to people who are homeless, and what can be recycled is recycled.
