Professional flat clearance

A flat is a house clearance with stairs, a lift that may or may not take a wardrobe, and parking outside you have to plan for. Tell us the floor and the way in, and the day is planned round it.

More about it

Everything in a flat comes out through one front door and down the same stairs the neighbours use. So the job is planned: what is coming down, in what order, and where the vehicle waits while it does.

  • Studios to three-bed flats, or one room
  • Carried down the stairs or the lift
  • Furniture, white goods and mattresses
  • Wardrobes and beds taken apart where they must be
  • Landings and stairs left clear behind us
  • Worked to your date

I've used this service twice to collect bulky rubbish from my front garden and they've been fantastic both times. Very quick service, take very bulky items and very quick turnaround. Definitely recommend.

Very nice guys. They were on time, very polite and worked very fast and clean. They left no mess, went above and beyond. Our garden hasn’t looked so tidy in years. Very professional trustworthy team. I highly recommend them and will use them again.

Complete Waste Management were brilliant!!! The whole team were totally amazing! From the lovely lady who took our booking and who could not have been more helpful, to the team who came out to do the job. They were fast, efficient, polite and helpful and all areas were left clean and tidy. We would most definitely use Complete Waste Management again and from our experience, we would certainly recommend them. To the whole team, thank you!

More about flat clearance

Stairs, lifts and the parking outside

The three things that decide how long a flat takes. The floor, whether there is a lift and how big it is, and how close a vehicle can stop.

Building rules

Some blocks want notice before furniture goes through the building, or the lift booked. Tell us the rules and we work inside them.

What comes out of a flat

Less than a house, usually, and all of it through one door. A sofa that went up in pieces years ago and has to come down the same way, a double bed and a mattress, a wardrobe that will not fit in the lift standing up, a fridge freezer, a washing machine, the boxes on top of the wardrobe and the bags under the bed. Anything that has to come apart before it can go is taken apart, and that is priced on our own list. It is carried down the stairs or taken down in the lift in the order that keeps the landing clear for the neighbours, loaded straight onto the vehicle and taken away; nothing is left in the communal hall or by the bins. If the flat is above a shop with no rear access, or the only parking is a loading bay with a time limit, say so when you ask for the price and the day is planned round it.

Where it goes

Everything goes to a transfer station and what can be recycled is recycled. Nothing is left in the communal areas.

Some of it may be worth something. Furniture and antiques are worth a photograph before they go, because we have somebody who buys.

Questions people ask

The flat is on the fourth floor with no lift. Is that a problem?

No, it is more carrying. Tell us the floor when you ask for the price and the quote allows for it.

Will a wardrobe fit in the lift?

Often not. Anything that has to come apart is taken apart: £35 per item.

Where will you park?

As close as we can. Tell us about bays, permit parking or loading times. Inside the London ULEZ zone the ULEZ charge applies: £12.50.

Do I need to tell the managing agent?

If the building has rules about the lift or moving furniture through it, yes, and tell us what they are.

Can you clear one room of a flat?

Yes. One room is usually one of the load sizes on the price list, from from £99.99.

Can you clear a flat after a death?

Yes, at the family's pace. Our bereavement clearance page says how that works.

Or send a photo, which is quicker

  • A photo tells us the load size straight away, so you get a real price instead of a range.
  • You are not asked to guess whether it is a half load or a full one. That is our job.
  • The price you are given is the price you pay, and it covers the labour and the disposal.
  • It goes straight to us, not to a call centre, and we are the ones who come back to you.
