Ingatestone's commercial life is the High Street and almost nothing else. Two of Brentwood Borough's thirteen conservation areas sit in this village, the High Street and Station Lane, with Fryerning making a third in the same parish. The shops are in buildings that are 16th to early 19th century, with flats, offices or storage above them and a rear yard behind.
A strip-out here is therefore a protected building with a narrow front, a shared stair, and a back way through an arch. Nothing about that is unusual for the village and none of it is a problem, but it is a completely different job from a unit on an estate and pricing it as if it were the same would be guesswork.

On top of that this particular site refuses DIY waste and rubble from everybody and will not book a van in.
There is no council collection for trade waste either. Their bulky collection exists for households and nothing else. For a shop on the High Street or a unit in a rear yard, the only proper route is a transfer station.
So it is loaded, carried out through whatever the opening allows, and disposed of properly, with whatever can be recycled separated first. The load size and the figure are in writing before we begin.
