Cheshunt is lucky to have its recycling centre on the doorstep, at Turnford, and it even admits Essex council tax payers as well as Hertfordshire ones. It is closed on Thursdays and Fridays, though, needs an ePass, wants a van or trailer pass for anything bigger than a car, and takes no business waste. Broxbourne's bulky collection is £55 for three items. Between them they cover the small jobs. What they do not cover is the big garden clear, the builder's pile on the drive, the fridge the council will not collect, or anyone who would rather not spend a Saturday driving to the tip and back. We load it from wherever it is and take it on one visit, priced off our list by the load, from £99.99 including VAT, with nothing to pay until it has gone. Turnford shuts on Thursdays and Fridays and turns away business waste, and the council collection stops at ten items and excludes fridges. We take all of it, priced before we start.
