Park Drive, and the Essex rules that come with it
Maldon's county recycling centre is on Park Drive, and it runs on Essex County Council's rules: a van, a pick-up or a large trailer needs a booked slot and is only accepted at the van-friendly sites, nothing of 3,500kg or over gets through the gate, and only household waste is taken, so a builder's rubble is refused even if it came out of your house. Maldon's gardens, many of them long and some of them steep, and its older houses being done up produce exactly the loads that sit awkwardly with those rules. We take them: the garden cleared after years, the soil and slabs from a new patio, the plasterboard and timber from a refit, the garage emptied before a sale. Loaded from where it is and taken on one visit, priced off our list by the load, from £99.99 including VAT. Essex sites refuse a tradesperson's waste and want vans booked. We take household and trade waste alike, and you book nothing. The load is priced before we start, and paid for when it has gone.
