Hatfield people used to take their rubbish to Cole Green, until it closed to the public on 31 March 2023. The borough's recycling centre is now on Tewin Road in Welwyn Garden City, open seven days a week, with an ePass needed for every vehicle and business waste refused. For a lot of the rubbish we take in Hatfield that rule is the problem, because it is a landlord's, not a householder's: the bags, broken furniture and kitchen leftovers from a shared house at the end of term, the waste from a refit between tenants, the garden of a rented house that nobody has touched for a year. The rest is ordinary household work, garden waste and garage clear-outs. All of it is priced by the load off our list, from £99.99 including VAT, and loaded by us. The county site needs an ePass and refuses business waste, which includes a landlord clearing a let. We take it, with a waste transfer note. Priced by the load before we start.
