A height barrier and five van trips a year
Walthamstow's reuse and recycling centre is on South Access Road, reached only through Argall Avenue, with a 1.75 metre height barrier on the way in. A van, a pick-up or a car with a large trailer has to be booked in a day ahead, and a household is allowed a van there five times a year at most. Trade waste is not accepted at all. That is a lot of rules for somebody halfway through doing up a house, which is what most of Walthamstow seems to be at any one time: the back extension, the loft conversion, the new kitchen, the garden turned into a patio. We take the waste those jobs leave from the front garden or the side return, as often as you need us, priced off the list by the load from £99.99 including VAT, with the £12.50 zone charge on its own line. South Access Road needs a booking a day ahead for any van, caps a household at five van visits a year, and turns away trade waste. We need no booking and have no cap. Loads are priced before we start, and paid for when they have gone.
