Braintree's industrial floorspace sits mainly on Springwood Industrial Estate, reached off Bradbury Drive about a mile from the A120, along with the newer developments inside it such as Bradbury Park and Kestrel Park, and on Skyline 120 out towards the junction.
Estate units are the straightforward half: a loading door, a yard, and somewhere to put the vehicle. The awkward half is a shop or an office over a town-centre street, where it is a carry-down to a kerb with a loading restriction on it and the work has to fit before the shops open or after they shut.

What office clearance in Braintree takes in
What a commercial job here usually is, and where each one stops.
- Soft strip out. Back to shell. Partitions, ceiling grid, floor boxes, fitted kitchens and storage out, and the floor swept end to end for whoever is in next.
- Renovation clearance. Taken away as the job runs rather than after it, so the old kitchen and bathroom are not sat in the car park for a fortnight.
- Outbuilding clearance and demolition. A derelict garage or outbuilding taken down as well as emptied. Bringing the structure down is priced differently from clearing what is inside it.

This is worth knowing before you plan a strip out, because it catches people every time. Business, trade and commercial waste is not accepted at any Essex County Council recycling centre. Not most of them. Any of them.
Braintree Recycling Centre is on Springwood Drive, which is on Springwood Industrial Estate. A unit on that estate can be a few hundred yards from a recycling centre that cannot take a single thing out of it. The route that works for a resident is shut to a business, and what is left is a transfer station.
So a commercial clearance here is not really a question of borrowing a van and doing it over a weekend. We load it, take it and dispose of it, recycling what can be recycled.

Do you take the fittings as well as the rubbish?
Yes. A strip out is the fittings coming out and going away in the same job, not a clearance afterwards.
Why can we not use the recycling centre on Springwood Drive?
Because it takes household waste only. Business, trade and commercial waste is not accepted at any Essex recycling centre, which is why commercial clearance goes to a transfer station instead.
