The working side of the Garden City, east of the railway
The commercial ground here sits east of the railway around Tewin Road and Mundells. Tewin Court is typical of it: terraces of light industrial and warehouse units around a central avenue, forecourt parking and shared rear yards, about a mile from the town centre and close to the A1(M) between junctions 5 and 6. Broadwater Road, Bridge Road East, Hyde Way and Shire Park make up the rest.
That layout is a gift for a strip out. Shared yards, forecourt space and roads built for lorries mean the vehicle gets to the door and the work is about the fit rather than the logistics. It is one of the easier towns we work in for commercial clearance, and the quote reflects that rather than hiding it.

- A photo tells us the load size straight away, so you get a real price instead of a range.
- You are not asked to guess whether it is a half load or a full one. That is our job.
- The price you are given is the price you pay, and it covers the labour and the disposal.
- It goes straight to us, not to a call centre, and we are the ones who come back to you.
What office clearance in Welwyn Garden City takes in
What a commercial job here usually is, and where each stops.
- Soft strip out. Back to shell. Partitions, ceiling grid, floor boxes, fitted kitchens and storage out, floor swept end to end.
- Renovation clearance. Taken away as the work runs rather than after it.
- Outbuilding clearance and demolition. A derelict garage, store or outbuilding taken down and cleared, which is a different job from emptying one.
- Construction site clearance and strip out. Cleared while a build runs and stripped before one starts.
- Land clearing. Plots, yards and access ways cleared of what has been dumped or grown over them, and left flat and usable.
A business here cannot hold an ePass at all
The recycling centre on Tewin Road sits in the middle of the industrial area and is open seven days a week, and none of that helps a business. Hertfordshire County Council does not accept business waste at its recycling centres, and a registered business address cannot hold an ePass in the first place, so there is not even a gate to be turned away at.
Waste from businesses, charities and other organisations is excluded in the same sentence of the county council's own terms, which is worth knowing if you run a charity shop or a community building and assumed otherwise.
A commercial clearance from here goes to a transfer station. It is loaded, taken away and disposed of, and what can be recycled is recycled, with the load size and the figure in writing first.

Questions we get asked about this
We are a charity. Can we use the recycling centre?
No. The county council's terms exclude waste from businesses, charities and other organisations in the same line.
Can you clear a unit on Tewin Court in one visit?
Usually, because the access there is good. Send photographs or let us look and the quote will say how long it takes.
Do you strip out and clear, or just clear?
Both, and as one job. The fittings coming out and going away is the same quote rather than two.
