Pitsea takes vans, if you book and it is your own waste
Basildon is better placed than most towns for the tip: Pitsea Recycling Centre is close, and unlike a lot of Essex sites it does take bookings for vans, pick-ups and large trailers. The catch is in the rules that come with it. It is household waste only, DIY waste only in limited amounts and only from your own household, nothing of 3,500kg or over, and a fresh booking every visit. So the job you can do yourself is a car or a hired van of your own rubbish, on a booked slot, unloaded in twenty minutes. Anything heavier, anything a tradesperson produced, or anything you would rather not lift at all is what we take. It is priced by the load off the list, from £99.99 for a Mini Load to £699.99 for a full Luton, including VAT. Essex sites take household waste only, and a tradesperson's waste from your home does not count as yours. Basildon's own collection is £30 for five items left at the kerb. We take trade and household waste alike, by the load, from £99.99 including VAT.
