A town on the edge of a forest, and what that leaves behind

Rubbish removal, rubbish clearance and waste clearance are three names for one thing here: a pile with no council route and no tip that will take it. One vehicle and one published list, so it earns one page rather than three.
What waste clearance in Epping takes in
The jobs this covers around Epping, weighted towards the forest side.
- Garage clearance. Front to back, to a swept floor and bare brick. It is also the one place the council's crews will not come, so it tends to be what is left.
- Garden clearance. Hedge cuttings, turf, brash and cut-down trees. On the forest side this is the biggest single category of work by some way.

Waltham Abbey takes no rubble, no vans, and shuts two days a week
The nearest recycling centre to Epping is Waltham Abbey on Brooker Road. It does not accept DIY waste or rubble at all, it does not accept bookings for vans, pick-ups or large trailers, and it is closed every Tuesday and Wednesday. Those three rules together take most of a garden or a refit off the table before you have even set off.
The district's own collection is £34.80 for one to three items, £52.80 for four to seven and £69.60 for eight to ten, but its excluded list covers garden waste, soil, cut-down trees, building waste, carpet, worktops, fixtures, fittings, glass, fence panels, sheds and greenhouses. For this town that is nearly everything.
So the practical route is a vehicle and a transfer station. Ours is priced off a published load list, the figure is in writing before we book you in, and there is no slot, no closed day and no rule about what the vehicle looks like.

Yes. Waltham Abbey will not and the council's collection excludes it, which is the most common reason people in Epping ring.
