What waste clearance in Saffron Walden takes in

- Garage clearance. Cleared right through and swept out. On the village plots that is often decades of tools, timber and tins, carried out past buildings that cannot be knocked about.

Thaxted Road, and the booking that catches people out
Saffron Walden Recycling Centre is on Thaxted Road, CB10 2SG. It takes vans, pick-ups and large trailers, and it opens 9am to 5pm from 1 March to 15 October and 9am to 4pm through the winter.
You have to book a slot before you turn up, unless you are a Blue Badge holder, on foot or on a bike. It is household waste only and commercial waste is refused, and so is anything a tradesperson produced doing work at your house, which is the part that catches a refit out.
For anybody in the outlying villages there is a second cost the price list never shows, which is the round trip and the booked slot you have to be back for. That is usually what decides it rather than the gate fee.

There is nowhere to park a van near the house. What happens?
It gets barrowed to wherever we can legally stand, and that is priced in rather than added on. Give us the street when you ring.
Can you reach a property down a farm track?
Usually. Tell us what the track is like after rain, because that decides which vehicle comes rather than whether one does.
Is a skip not simpler?
On a lot of these streets there is nowhere legal to put one. That is the reason the van waiting while we load tends to suit this town.
